On May 8, 2026, volunteers from the Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company and Frederick County Division of Fire and Rescue Services staff assigned to the Wolfsville Fire Station participated in training alongside neighboring departments. The focus was on rural water supply operations and tanker shuttle scenarios. These exercises are vital in areas without hydrant systems, teaching crews learn how to efficiently deliver water during major incidents.

Joint training strengthens cooperation among departments, improves communication, and sharpens the skills necessary to protect communities when every second matters.

Thank you to all departments and personnel who took part in these training sessions, as well as to the Frederick YMCA for making their grounds available. Ongoing partnerships and collaborative training play a critical role in making the region safer.

Participants included:

Career staff assigned to Wolfsville and Myersville fire stations
Wolfsville Fire Company volunteers
DFRS Battalion Chief
Federal firefighters from government installations in the area
Career staff from Braddock Heights fire station, who provided coverage to allow training with minimal interruption
Frederick County Professional Firefighters Local 3666
Frederick County (MD) Fire & Rescue
