Career staff from DFRS and volunteers from Wolfsville Volunteer Fire Company recently participated in a multi-company training drill focused on drafting and relay pumping operations.

This drill provided crews from several departments with the opportunity to work together on establishing a water supply, drafting from a static water source, and moving large volumes of water over a distance through relay pumping.

Training with neighboring departments is essential for maintaining strong mutual-aid partnerships. These exercises allow firefighters to practice communication, apparatus positioning, pump operations, and water supply coordination, which enhances confidence and skills for real-world incidents.

The participating companies and members each played a valuable role in contributing to a successful training exercise. Special appreciation is extended to Caboose Farm for providing the facility for the drill. Working alongside community partners and neighboring fire companies during training helps ensure readiness to respond effectively when needed.
